CO-OWNERS KAY SALERNO & SHILA MORRIS’S STORY
When Kay Salerno and Shila Morris were 10 and 17, their parents decided to quit their careers and “bet it all” purchasing a tiny breakfast restaurant in a California ski town. At an early age, these sisters had a front-row seat to the drama of American entrepreneurship, all while doing their part bussing tables and working the new family business. When the two became adults, they formally joined the family business as co-owners and helped grow the business into a national brand featured on Food Network and in the New York Times.
After their mother and father retired, Kay and Shila continued to expand the business serving millions across Nevada, California, Texas, and Idaho. The sisters are often recognized for their unique marketing strategies and dedication to development, but they credit their love for each other to fueling their drive and success.
